Ken Kabongo Bio
Practice owner, Physiotherapist, and Qualified Pilates Matwork instructor, Ken Mark Kabongo, graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Ken is also a Neuromuscularskeletal Clinical Educator in the Physiotherapy Department of the University of Cape Town.
After completing his community service year in Johannesburg, Ken decided to further his studies and has completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy at UCT. Other notable post-graduate courses include Dry needling level 1 & 2, Clinical Pilates level 1 &2, Advanced taping & return to sport, Management of chronic pain, World Rugby Intermediate Care in Rugby Level 3, Tackling concussion head-on ‘The role of a physiotherapist’ and FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine.
Ken historically has a special interest in exercise and sports physiotherapy and has extensive experience working in a professional sporting environment. Ken has worked for multiple professional teams within South Africa which includes: Springbok 7’s (Blitzbokke), SA Schools Rugby, SA U20 Rugby, SA Rugby Academy, Ajax Cape Town, Boland Kavaliers, England Rugby Union, and Singapore Indoor Masters Cricket team. Ken is a proud winner of the prestigious 2020 Top 200 Mail & Guardian Young South African.
Through the years, Ken has made his clients understand that there is a connection between the mind and the body, and for this reason, he treats his patients with a holistic approach to get the best possible results.
Ken enjoys competing in triathlons, living a healthy lifestyle, exploring the outdoors when not on the sports field or in his private practice, and lastly Ken has recently represented South Africa at the World Duathlon Championships as an athlete in 2022 & 2023. Ken is also the South African Sprint Duathlon Champion.
Max Linley

Max Linley Bio
Practice Co-Owner, Max Linley received his BSc Physiotherapy degree from the University of the Western Cape (UWC). On completion of his community service year in Gauteng, Max decided to further his studies and is now a Master of Science (MSc) candidate in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy at the University of Cape Town (UCT). Max has also completed various other postgraduate courses which include; Dry Needling Level 1 & 2, Advanced Taping and Strapping for Sport, Myofascial Cupping, as well as multiple courses in Neurology.
Max has always been an avid sportsman himself, which naturally drew him towards pursuing a career in Sports Physiotherapy. Max has worked with many professional athletes, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, Muay Thai fighters, boxers and trail runners. He is currently working with the competition teams of the highly respected institutions: Pride Fight Academy and the Renzo Gracie Academy. Currently, Max is working with Stellenbosch Football Club. In addition to sports, Max has a keen interest in Neurological conditions, with a special focus on stroke and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) rehabilitation.
Max strives to provide a holistic approach to treatment, as well as providing the best evidence-based practice methods in order to achieve the best results possible with his patients.
In his off time, Max enjoys keeping himself active through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, as well as spending quality time with friends and family.
Jessica Way

Jessica Way Bio
Practice co-owner, Jessica Way, studied a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (Hons) at the University of Cape Town, finishing top of her class and achieving the highest academic standard during the four years of study. She is a passionate, hard-working, and forward-thinking physiotherapist with special interests in musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
After completing her community service year in Pietermaritzburg, Jess worked for 6 months in a rehabilitation center treating inpatients with orthopedic and neurological conditions, as well as those with post-covid complications.
Dedicated to continuing professional development, Jess has completed her Dry Needling level 1, Kinesiology taping course and attended multiple webinars covering topics on musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain and neurology.
Jess is a keen sportswoman and as a result has enjoyed working as the physiotherapist for the Rhodes University men’s and ladies USSA hockey teams.
Jess strives to always achieve maximal client satisfaction. She believes that excellent clinical reasoning, combined with a holistic approach, is the key to helping patients recover from the point of diagnosis to return to their desired optimal level of functioning. Passion is what motivates Jess to go great lengths to help patients overcome challenging obstacles, alleviate pain and despair, restore their quality of life, and subsequently change their lives for the better.
Jess is very active and adventurous- always keen for a beach day or looking for a new mountain to hike. She spends most of her weekends enjoying the outdoors and relaxing with family and friends.

All You Need To Know
Physiotherapy: 45 Min (Initial Consult) R 640
Physiotherapy is aimed at assessing, treating, rehabilitating and preventing human movement disorders. Using a comprehensive combination of skilled evaluation and treatment techniques, Physiotherapists manage pain and/or injuries to the muscular, skeletal and neural components of the body. The most important area of focus for physiotherapy is pain affecting muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Treatment is aimed at restoring the highest level of function by reducing the pain and/or stiffness, and by educating the patient on his/her condition. Treatment techniques used may include skilled hands on therapy, dry needling, specialised electrotherapy equipment, strapping, individualised exercise programmes, and very importantly, patient education.
Sports Massage: 30 Minutes R 450
Sport massage is used to manipulate soft tissue in order to provide the following: relief of muscle tension and pain, promotion of relaxation, prevention of injuries, reduced recovery time, increased range of motion for strength training and hypertrophy & enhanced athletic performance.

Concussion Rehabilitation: 1 Hour R 640
Physiotherapist Ken Kabongo will be overseeing clinical interventions of concussion that become chronic, have significant balance disturbances or require neck treatments.
Physiotherapy management of the patient with vestibular dysfunction from head trauma: Symptomatology in head trauma: There are 4 basic categories of impairment and typical symptoms associated with traumatic brain injury (TBI): namely sleep, cognitive, emotional and somatic. The role of the physiotherapist is predominantly somatic with respect to dizziness, imbalances, headaches, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound and neck pain.
Rehabilitation includes:

Neurological Rehabilitation: 1 Hour R 640
Neurological rehabilitation is a Physiotherapist supervised program designed for people with diseases, injury, or disorders of the nervous system such as strokes and traumatic brain injuries. Neurological rehab can often improve function, reduce symptoms, and improve the well-being of the patient.
Pilates (Matwork): 45 Minutes R 600
Based on matwork pilates. The class is for a single person and is designed and taught by our Physiotherapist, to ensure a high standard of instruction, supervision and an understanding
Home Visit: 1 Hour R 800
We do home visits after you have undergone any form of surgery, or you are too weak & frail to make it to the practice, etc. We will assist you with rehabilitation in the home environment until you are strong enough to visit our practice.

Do I need a doctor's referral letter for Physiotherapy treatment?

No, Physiotherapists are considered first line practitioners so you do not need a referral from your Doctor to come see us
Is the cost of Physiotherapy covered by medical aid?
It will depend on your particular medical aid or insurance policy. It is advisable to check with your medical aid provider whether physiotherapy is covered before starting treatment.
How quickly can I be seen?

We will always try to offer a physiotherapy appointment on that same day or the next available slot
How long does each session last?
Approximately 45 minutes for your initial consultation and 30 – 45 minutes for your follow-up consultation depending on your condition.
What should I wear?
The physiotherapist will need to see the affected body part. Please wear shorts if you have a lower body injury or a strappy top if you have an upper body injury. You will be provided with towels. The practice can also provide you with shorts and towels or you can bring your own.
